We are back racing at Dubai later today with two runners and it’s great to be a part of these big days and I am hopeful that both Simsir and Massif Central will represent us well.
Surrounding remains in very good form and we plan to let her take her chance in the Group 1 Jebel Hata on Super Saturday on the 7th of March.
My thoughts on tonight’s runners are below.
4.50 Massif Central (Ronan Whelan)
He has a bit to do on ratings, but we’ve decided to let him take his chance and we are hoping that there might be more improvement to come from him, now that he steps up in trip to a mile and six. He is in very good form and is really thriving over here. Both Spanish Moon and Secret Adviser, will be hard to beat, but I am hoping that there will be plenty of pace in the race and if he gets that, I think he’ll acquit himself very well.
6.00 Simsir (Ronan Whelan)
He ran very well on his first start over here, but he failed to run to expectations last month and I think he’s better than that. He travelled very well on his first start over here and while he wasn’t beaten far when fifth here the last day, I thought he didn’t travel as well that day. I think we’ll see an improved performance from him today. It looks a typically competitive handicap, but our horse has a good draw and while he has a bit to do on his run here the last day with American Graffiti, he looks great and the lads over here tell me, that he has been working very well. If things go his way, I am hopeful that he’ll give a very good account of himself.
