The horses remain in good form and we are very busy here in the yard at the moment, but Ronan I will head over to Dubai on Sunday, as we have Simsir, Massif Central and Surrounding to compete over there for us.

All three have settled in well and it’s great to be involved in the Dubai Carnival and it is very much a focus point for flat racing at this time of the year.

The facilities are top class and the horses and staff are very well looked after.

The Carnival is always very much on our radar throughout the year. If you have horses that you want to bring over to Dubai, you have to sacrifice a part of the domestic season, and then ensure that they are thriving before they travel. The aim is to start off Simsir and Surrounding next Thursday.

We run two tonight at Dundalk and my thoughts on them are below.

6.00 Miss Snossyboots (Ronan Whelan)

I was delighted with her last week and it was the first time that we saw a spark from her in a while. She got the mile and a half well and it gives us hope that she’ll get the extra half mile. She has a relaxed style of racing and that will help her and you’d like to think that if she gets the trip, that she goes there with every chance.

6.30 Sir Godzilla (Ronan Whelan)

He’s a horse that we like and he’s ready to start off. His work has been good and we think he’s a horse which will win his maiden, but this looks a competitive race and it won’t be easy for him, as there are plenty of horses in the race with solid credentials. Like all of ours, he will improve for his first run, and I’d be optimistic that he will give a very good account of himself.
