We were delighted with Balefire’s win at Leopardstown last night.  He is very consistent and he is progressing with every run.

We have three runners over the weekend – two at Navan tomorrow and one at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

NAVAN

3.40  GRUFALO (Niall McCullagh) & WILD MUSTAND (Shane Foley)

Grufalo has struggled to win his maiden but from what we have seen so far hopefully he will get a handicap mark and we will take it from there with him.  The ground and trip are ideal for him.

Wild Mustang has been slow to mature and we are looking forward to getting him started.  He is a horse with a decent pedigree – we are hoping for a good run from him.

FAIRYHOUSE

3.10 SURROUNDING (Ronan Whelan)

Surrounding has her first run in a group three.  She is remarkably consistent and is now at a career high rating of 106, achieved in defeat in a handicap at the Derby weekend at the Curragh.

On ratings it looks a good opportunity for her and she is a course and distance winner in the past.  It is the Newell’s local track and it would be wonderful if she could win – she has been pleasing us in her work.
