We had a great double last night.  Katiymann came back from a break to win the seven furlong handicap in Fairyhouse.  Defining Battle won his first handicap in Killarney.  He appreciated the step up in trip and is an exciting prospect.

We have three runners in Leopardstown this evening.

6.45  TONKINESE (Liam Browne) & GOUGANE BARRA (Ross Coakley)

Tonkinese in the Apprentice Handicap is a first ride for Liam Browne, grandson of Liam, the former trainer.  It has been a while since he ran but he is a wonderful lead horse and he still retains plenty of ability.  Despite a disappointing wide draw, he should be a great first ride for Liam.

Gougane Barra is coming back from a break after enjoying a good winter on the all-weather at Dundalk.  It will be interesting to see him back on grass and he too has a very wide draw.  If he can overcome his wide draw, he should be a good ride for Ross.

8.25  BALLYDRISLANE (Ronan Whelan)

Ballydrislane is a lovely big colt who has taken plenty of time to mature.  He is a horse we like but he will improve for the run.  He shows a great attitude and the conditions should suit him well.
