We have a busy weekend coming up with three runners at Dundalk tonight and we have four runners at Gowran Park tomorrow.  I am looking forward to getting back to Dundalk and hopefully the remedial work on the course will be to everyone’s satisfaction.

DUNDALK

5.25 ZAAMAR (RONAN WHELAN)

Zaamar ran a fine race when second the last day at Bellewstown.  We think he will handle the track and a repetition of that run would leave him run very well even though we have a bit to find on ratings with the opposition.

7.35 GOUGANE BARRA (LIAM BROWNE)

We are trying a new trip with Gougane Barra tonight and we think he will stay.  It looks like he has a preference for the all-weather surface after some disappointing performances on the turf.  We are looking forward to him giving Paul Rooney plenty of fun over the winter.  Liam Browne takes a valuable 7lbs off him and he should give him a good ride.

8.05 SIMSIR (RONAN WHELAN)

Simsir was very impressive first time out.  He came alive at the track and he has been pleasing us in his homework since Cork.  It is his first time on the surface at Dundalk but he is a lovely mover and we think he will handle it.  The 101 rated Dunkirk Harbour sets the standard but I am really looking forward to seeing our fellow run again.

GOWRAN PARK

2.05 LEYLAK (RONAN WHELAN)

Leylak is a lovely moving horse and he is ready to start.  Despite the smallish field it looks a strong race.  Leylak should improve for the run and he is a horse that has a future.

4.15 TERZETTO (NIALL MCCULLAGH)

We are letting Terzetto take her chance in the Group 3 Denny Cordell Lavarack / Lanwades Stud Stakes.  She is lightly raced this season and she has a bit to find on ratings.  We would be delighted if we could get some black type for her.

5.25 MALVOLIO (RONAN WHELAN) & BALLYDRISLANE

We are doubly represented in the last, a one mile one furlong maiden.

Malvolio has been slow to come to hand but we are looking forward to getting him started.  He is a well bred horse who is quite lazy at home, so this run should tell us a lot – conditions should suit him.

Ballydrislane, despite being the first reserve is getting a run.  He is a huge horse who has been strengthening all the time.  He is capable of improving on what he has shown so far on the track and I am looking forward to a good run form him.
