We have 3 runners at Dundalk tonight.
5.15 LADY DE VESCI (Liam Browne)
Lady De Vesci was a great servant over last winter, winning 4 times at the track. I would expect her to come forward nicely from her first run this season. It looks an above average Claimer at weights. We are claiming a valuable 7lbs off her with Liam Browne which should help her.
6.45 KATIYMANN (Colin Keane) and AHLAN BIL ZAIN (Ronan Whelan)
Katiymann was second in Cork on his last run and he too handles the surface well having won this race two years ago. While it would look like the handicapper has a good hold of him, he has a poor draw in 14. That being said, he has the benefit of Colin Keane and I am sure he will run a big race for him.
Ahlan Bil Zain enjoyed a great winter winning three times on this surface and he will appreciate being back tonight. He also has a disappointingly wide draw but we are hoping he can maintain his great record and run a big race.
LEOPARDSTOWN – SATURDAY
We have a busy day at Leopardstown tomorrow with 5 runners.
1.25 SINDHIA (Ronan Whelan) & SIENNA LADY (Andrew Slattery)
Sindhia had a very promising first run at Naas finishing a promising fourth. She has come forward well in her work and I would expect a big run from her.
Sienna Lady raced very green on her first run at Naas but she has stepped forward nicely in her homework. She is a lovely filly and she should improve with racing.
The ground and trip should be ideal for both fillies.
4.10 TIRMIZI (Ronan Whelan)
We are running Tirmizi back quickly after his run at Gowran Park on Monday. He tired in the straight on the heavy ground on that occasion, but I would expect an improved performance from him tomorrow. On any of his better form, he is capable of running very well in a race of this nature.
5.15 KARAKHAN (Ronan Whelan) & MOUNEERA (R Coakley)
We run the Aga Khan owned pair Karakhan and Mouneera. Karakhan showed good form early in the season and is coming back off a break. He has been pleasing me in his work and I would expect a big run from him. He goes to the HIT sale in Goffs on Tuesday.
On her two runs to date Mouneera would have to find plenty to win her maiden. She is an honest filly with a good attitude and she will find her level. The trip and ground should be fine for both.
NAAS – SUNDAY
We have 3 runners at Naas.
1.55 SLIEVE BEARNAGH (Shane Foley)
On what we seen so far of Slieve Bearnagh, his future would lie in handicaps. He has got a good attitude and handles the conditions well – we are hoping for a good run from him.
4pm TERZETTO (Ross Coakley)
I was delighted with Terzetto’s last run in Gowran Park – she finished in close 5th in a listed race. A reproduction of that run would see her run a big race here. She is a lovely filly with a great attitude and she deserves to get some black type. She has a wide draw but with Ronan Whelan suspended, Ross Coakley rakes over in the saddle. I would expect her to run well for him.
4.35 CASTLE GUEST (Liam Browne)
While Castle Guest struggles to win he has run some decent races. He is not getting any younger and Liam Browne gets a good tune form him – hopefully he runs a big race.
