We had a wonderful night in Dundalk last Friday.  Three wins and a second from 4 runners.  They all did their job well and should be in for a profitable season.  We lost Luna’s Luck to John McConnell in the claimer and we wish him the best of luck, he should give his new connections plenty of fun.  We followed up Dundalk with 2 seconds in Naas.  Both Sonaiyla and Arcanears ran really well on the first day of the new turf season.  Both should be winning before too long.

We have just the 1 runner tonight in Dundalk tonight, Balefire (R Whelan) in the 7.15 Maiden.  He is a colt who made a lovely debut in Leopardstown las back end, finishing well to be 4th in a decent maiden.  He should handle the surface and despite him being better for a run, we are expecting him to go well.

We have 3 runners in Navan tomorrow.

4pm       KARAKHAN        Niall McCullagh

Karakhan is a lovely bit So You Think colt who is ready to start.  He’s still a work in progress and he should improve with racing.  He should handle the going and I’m looking forward to seeing him on the track.

5.10        CASTLE GUEST   Adam Farraghar

Castle has been a great servant over the years and now in his 10th year he has the enthusiasm of a 2-year-old.  He’s coming down the handicap slowly and someday things will fall right for him.  He should give Adam a good ride and Paul Rooney will only be delighted to see him run again.

5.45        SPELGA                Niall McCullagh

Spelga has what looks a valuable handicap mark.  He is still a little backward in himself, but is ready to start his season.  I think the 10 furlong trip should suit him and he should improve as the season progresses.  He’s really genuine and tries hard.
