The horses remain in good form and we bring a nice team of horses to Dundalk tonight. Gougane Barra now gets a run in the 5pm race, having been the first reserve. He will be ridden by Ross Coakley.
He got a bit held up there a while ago, but I’ve been happy with him and I think he’ll be competitive.
Playa Del Puente (C Keane) takes his chance in the conditions race over a mile and he’s a horse that we’ve always liked. He won his maiden well the last day up here and we gave him a nice break after that. That form has worked out really well and he is a horse that we like a lot and we are looking forward to a big run from him.
I’d say this might be Paddy The Celeb’s (C Keane) last run for us, in the two-mile handicap. He is not getting any younger and he has given Paul McMahon a lot of pleasure down the years. He ran well the last day over a mile and a half and the step back up two miles will suit him. He is fresh and well and he goes there in great form.
I am trying a new trip with Yamato and if things go right for him, I think he’ll run a big race in the miles and a half handicap. He has a nice light weight on his back and I think he’ll give Niall McCullagh a good ride.
I hope to have a few runners on Friday and at that stage, I’ll have a look back over the last twelve months.
