We bring a nice team of horses to Dundalk tonight and we start off with Lady De Vesci in the opening mile and a half-rated race.

It’s good to have Ronan Whelan back riding for us after a spell in Dubai. He has won on her and we intend using Ronan a lot this year. This filly is really thriving and twelve furlongs is a good trip for her and she goes there with a great chance.

Yamato (S Foley) runs in the mile and a quarter handicap and he drops back to ten furlongs tonight and he ran well last week over a mile and a half. He was a bit further back than ideal last Friday and the cheek-pieces are back on and we’ll more than likely ride him a bit handier tonight.

DUNDALK -. YAMATO and Ross Coakley

Libras Power (A Farraghar) has a poor draw to overcome in the seven-furlong maiden, but she is an improving filly and is getting stronger all the time. It could be a smart maiden and I thought Ger Lyons’ filly Anythingyouwantobe would be hard to beat, but we’ve been happy with Libras Power and she goes there in good form.

Ahlan Bil Zain has improved throughout the winter and goes for his third success at Dundalk in the seven-furlong handicap. He has plenty of weight and Ben Coen takes 5lbs off his back and the small field tonight will help him. Seven furlongs is a good trip for him and he has gone up 16lbs over the winter and the blinkers have really helped him. I’d be expecting another very big run from him.

La Novia (N McCullagh) is another that is really thriving at the minute and she will have her last run before her date at the sales at Goffs next month in the concluding seven-furlong handicap. Niall gets on well with her and she has a good draw. She has plenty of weight, but she is in super form and I think she’ll run a big race.

She loves Dundalk and she won on the grass last year and I have no doubt that there is more fun to be had with her.
