We have 5 runners at Dundalk this evening.
We run a lovely filly Vivianite in the 7 furlong, 2yo Maiden. She is a filly we like, but as with all of ours, she will improve for a run.
We run 2 in the 1 mile Handicap. Tonkinese, who ran really well recently to finish a close 4th (Katiymann was 3rd and has won since) – so we are hoping for a good run. Rummaging is back after a few months off and he is slowly coming down the handicap to a mark where he can be competitive again. He’s been a wonderful servant to ourselves and the Newell’s and I’m sure he will give us plenty of fun over the winter.
Cloudy Miss takes her chance in the 1 mile 3yo Handicap. She found the 7 furlong trip a bit sharp the last day and she will appreciate the step back up to a mile. She has been working well.
Finally we run Dayereh in the 1 mile 2 furlong Maiden. She ran a solid race on her first visit to Dundalk to finish 4th – more is probably required on ratings this time, but her work is improving and she’s in great order.
We only have two entries for Friday in Dundalk.
Yamato is in the Claimer, after failing to sell at Goffs H.I.T. Sale in last week. He won his last race and is working really well. It looked a very competitive race at entry stage.
Golden Pearl runs in the 6 furlong Handicap. She has had a frustrating year and never had any luck. She is working well and has dropped down the handicap to a winnable mark.
We have only 2 entries for the final turf meeting of the year at Naas on Sunday. How quickly it has come around!! With plenty of horses to run, thank God for Dundalk.
