I’m looking forward to getting started again in Dundalk tomorrow evening. It is amazing how quickly the years turn around and the scoresheet reads zero again. We have five runners in three races.
Three of the runners are in the BetVictor Maiden at 6pm. Alanari (R Coakley) is droping back in trip and wearing blinkers for the first time. I would expect to see an improvement on his first two runs. It looks a competitive race with some horses holding good place form.
Stormy Daniels (N McCullagh) raced way too keenly first time out and gave herself no chance. This was out of character for her as she is normally a very laid back filly. With the benefit of a hood tomorrow, I expect to see a much improved performance from her. She is a filly with an interesting name and hopefully she can find form to match it.
Flamboyant Fling (B Coen) is having her first run. She is a filly with a good attitude and is ready to start. I would expect her to improve for the run.
In the 6.30 we are represented by Ahlan Bil Zain, who won impressively before Christmas. He seemed to benefit from wearing blinkers and with a valuable 5lb off his back with Ben Coen, I would expect another good effort from him. He has been in good form since.
Another winner before Christmas Lady De Vesci (N McCullagh), represents us in the 7pm race. This is a step up in class for her but she has been making steady progress during the winter and has been working really well. I would expect another good performance from her.
