3 for Leopardstown and 5 for Naas

We have a busy weekend with runners at both Leopardstown on Saturday and Naas on Sunday.

We run 3 at Leopardstown.  Magic Shuffle runs first time out in the 2.05 and Ben Coen rides.  He’s a laid back type colt who should improve with racing.

We have 2 in the 9 furlong three-year-old plus Maiden.  Cockalorum has been gelded since his last run.  He has been working well and on his form, has a good chance.  Ross Coakley rides, knows him well and his claim will be a help.  The trip and ground should suit well.  He holds an entry in the Goffs HIT Sale in early November.

Pienta (R Cleary) had his first run on turf at Fairyhouse recently.  He got quite unbalanced and will appreciate the step up in trip to 9 furlongs.  He’s a horse we like a lot and he too holds a sales entry in Tatts HIT Newmarket.

On Sunday we have 5 runners.  Sonaiyla, a lovely Dark Angel filly starts off in the 2.05 Fillies Maiden, Niall McCullagh rides.  We like her and although she will improve for the run, she should run well.  She has a wide draw in 17.  The good to yielding ground should suit her.

Vivianite runs in the Clodoval Garnet Stakes (listed race).  She has a good draw and is ridden by Shane Foley.  She has a bit to find on ratings but should she manage to be placed, it would increase her value greatly.  She is in great form.

In the 4.15 10 furlong Apprentice Race, we have Castle Guest, Dean Curran rides.  He ran a blinder for Dean last year and he is coming down the handicap to a place where he should be competitive.  He’s a great servant and tries so hard.

Back in handicap company after 2 solid runs in listed and group company in Dundalk, Massif Central (R Whelan) lines up in the 4.50.  He’s got plenty of weight (10.0) to carry but he’s in terrific form.  A good draw in 3 and the going good to yielding, I’m hopeful of a big run from him.

Kalaxana will be rounding off for the season in The Bluebell Stakes (listed race).  She had a wonderful year winning 3 races including at listed level and being group placed.  This looks a good race for her, taking on fillies only over 12 furlongs.  The ground should be ideal and she can give Ronan Whelan a great ride before he heads off to Dubai for the winter.
